All about the community.

I can't say how glad I am to live in a region that has such an active group of FJers. In a way, I think we are pretty spoiled. Post up a trail run at least a week in advance and you are sure to have two or three people interested in joining, if not 15. Post up a happy hour social a couple days in advance and ditto.

Prior to coming out to the midwest this week, I decided to gauge interest in a beer social in the local area. I figured I come out here at least twice a year, so…

Bay Bridge sucks!!!

So i'm commuting into the city from Brentwood/Antioch area for the next couple months for a work. This intails me having to go across the Bay Bridge.

......I tell you. This is the worse comunte i've ever experianced. I don't know what the bridge brings out in people. Things are ok from brentwood up intill that damn toll booth. :flame: Then people turn into raving lunitics!! No patience what-so-ever. In a weeks time i've seen 3 accidents. Speaking of accidents, why is it that… Continue

Of Surf N Turf 2009

Last year, I wrote about how great Surf N Turf 2008 was. I could not imagine we would have been able to top that in terms of fun and borderline craziness.

Enter Surf N Turf 2009.

Where to start? From the build of the Taj Mahal to the jump competition, the beach cuisine to the night dune runs...there was never a dull moment aside from the few hours of sleep that were needed in order to kickstart the… Continue

Toytec Ultimate 3"

Can't say enough about this lift! Quality of the build and fit were great. I ended up installing it one night by myself, which made it more difficult than with another hand, so considering that it was pretty straight forward. In fact I may have gotten away without using a spring compressor had I had help. Only complaint was that Toytec used different sized bolts (13 instead of 12mm if I remember) for the front skid plate - it gets dropped with the drive line so you get spacers and longer bolts.… Continue

Still cleaning out the dust

Round two this weekend, still have all the camp gear to clean and put away. The FJ still needs some cleaning love as well, I'm thinking of taking the leaf blower to the interior to get it dust free.

Back from the desert

I have just returned from a two week trip though Canyonlands NP, Arches NP, Death Valley and the Inyo Wilderness. We had a blast as usual, you can check out some of the shots in my gallery.

Useless Bike tool

Ok so like many of you who have been on a sponsered trail event you may have received a Bike tool in one of your goodie bags. I have gotten two of them and I thought grea,t what a useless tool to have. I mean I have not ridden a bike in years. (ok I know I could use the exercise, but lets stay focused). So what in the world will I do with two of these useless tools. Labor day weekend I got my answer. We went camping and I wanted to bring along Anthony's bike so he would have something to ride… Continue

Of all the places and times - seeing FJers at random

Most of us see FJs on the road everyday, but it's rare when you see an FJer you know through the forums. For me, there has only been a few instances so far:

Date: July 15, 2007

FJer: LandCruiserSteve (from the Blue Room)

Location: Tusayan, AZ

Situation: I ran into Steve and his wife in Tusayan right after the inaugural FJ Cruiser Summit. My buddy and I were looking for the campgrounds just outside of the strip when we see this Sun Fusion rolling by the… Continue

Nor-Cal

Have we got just the best crew of people or what. Not only do we drive the coolest rigs out there but we are always trying to give back in some way or another. I was just thinking about how much fun we all seem to have when we are out in a group. It really does not matter what we do or where we are we always seem to have a great time. Then last weekend I meet some real cool So-Cal people down south to add to the mix of great pople. I guess with the new baby on the way I will not be around all… Continue

Finaly installed my CB and Scanner!

Well, i've been wanting to do this for nearly two years now, and i finaly found the time, (or should i say made the time) to get everything installed. I have to say these are by far the best mods i've done. While sitting in some traffic, i heard the CHP chatting about a car they were looking for, then in the same traffic jam i had a nice little conversation with a couple truckers. Nice way to kill some time! And this isn't counting the real benifit of finaly being able to comunicate with trail… Continue

So much drama

I dunno. Why do people post up personaly crap about there life and the get mad when they here somthing they don't want to hear? At what point do you stop feeling sorry for them and figure out that they just want sympathy? I mean, don't get me wrong. There are some instances were some people just need to vent (basicly like me now). But somtimes its just apparent that they need to be in the spot light. An what gets me the most is people fall for this!

I dunno. Maybe i'm just reading into… Continue

Of Surf N Turf 2008

Well, it's been over a week since the whirlwind that was Surf N Turf 2008 and I'm still craving for more.

From the detailed organization of getting 16 trucks down to the dunes in a single caravan to the organized chaos that enveloped the night runs, Surf N Turf 2008 proved to be quite an event to remember. In fact, the only thing that would have made it better was banana chocolate chip pancakes on Sunday morning.

Many thanks are in order to everyone who represented NorCal.… Continue
