They aren't bad radio's, but is there a specific reason you want one?

 

They do tend to have a better frontend(receiver) than the 50 dollar special but he transmit is still limited to 4 watts, but it does require more space for your installation. I would look toward the Ranger RCI 2950dx personally, it's a 10 meter radio that has a very easy mod to make it a 11 meter CB radio. Great receiver on it for the same space.

The reason I was looking at the Galaxy radios is the abundance of positive reviews. Other brands seem to have mixed reviews more often than not.

I will check out the Ranger as well.
