FJ Cruisers of Northern California
Revived the old thread and am starting a new one! those of us with rigs whose pulleys have failed or are interested in replacing them before failure should get on it and post up interest!
Old Thread: http://norcalfjs.com/forum/topics/its-a-pulley-party-91309
Im going to order the parts from Rockauto.com and it'll total out to about $200 shipped for:
GATES Part # 36174 x1
GATES Part # 36173 x2
DAYCO Part # 5070835 x1 (belt)
GATES Part # 38411 x1 (belt tensioner)
the belt change isnt necessary but i figured as im around 75k i might as well change it out since ill be in there.
Maybe we can turn this into a whole install day too if anyone has anything else to install.

in a couple weeks and i dont have a place to install as i live in an apartment so if anyone here has a large driveway or something that would be best!
your place looks like the perfect spot if it works out, only downside is it is around 2 hours away from the bay area. looks like we will try and do this in a few weeks?
3/16 would work. If people are willing to drive that far. Maybe take a poll to see who wants to make the drive. You will not hurt my feelings if you do it somewhere else, I just thought I would offer.
I am interested too, for mostly for longevity reasons rather than strictly maintainance since I only have 14K on my FJ.
I will order parts soon, but have a vacation coming up, so install can wait.

Interested. I'm starting to hear a bit of noise.
Are the part numbers the same for the post 2010 models as those for the pre 2010's (2010 and newer had engine change)?
I would be interested in this too! I have no problems as of yet... only about 26k miles.
Mines are whining like no other and need to be replaced soon as well!
Any chance we can do something closer to the bay area? Darryl's place is great for a mod day, but it is quite a trek for me.
Well I can host this in San Rafael at McNears Beach Park, we have an overflow area with a grass lot. Plenty of room for everyone but of course it is weather dependent, if it rains before or day of I would have to cancel as we can't mess up the grass lot. There is also a $10.00 fee to enter the park but I am in the process to see if I can work something out. I think if we offer to do a couple hours of community service in the a.m (like beach cleanup, litter pick up) we can get the fees waved. Here are some pics and if you guys and gals are o.k with this I will post it in the event section.
