Tapatalk or Autoguide

Might be wrong place to discuss this but couldnt find a forum for this topic. I am wondering if there is a way the forum admin may be able to inckrporate either Tapatalk or Autoguide with Norcal FJs. The layout of both of these apps is very easy to use and navigate. I know there r certain requirements for how your forum is setup, but not too savvy on the details. FJcruisersforum.com is set up with Autovuide, so maybe there is a reference. Just a suggestion.

Theyre forum apps for Android (and i believe iphone as well). Not sure of the specs the forum has to be hosted under, but if it falls under the specs (which i saw the reply that we dont), then you can sign the forum up to be enabled by Tapatalk or AG. Theyre just user friendly forum format apps used on smartphones and tablets. I actually just found the mobile version of the site, so that works. Ive been loading the full site into my browser, and for some reason the browser I use wouldnt pull up text box for replies. Works fine on mobile view though.

Tapatalk is a plugin for PHPbb.

thanks for inquiring! we do have a mobile version for NorCal FJs, which you have already discovered, but it does have its limitations. that being said, it is currently in the process of being revamped. we had originally considered creating an entirely new mobile app for use with Android and iOS platforms, but will wait to see what the upgraded version brings before taking those steps. i will provide an ETA of the new version as soon as i find out.

our network is more robust than traditional forums in that we deal with a variety of features, such as multimedia, event calendars with export features, individual profiles, groups, etc., so this requires a different type of mobile app.

i agree that Tapatalk/Autoguide works great on PHPbb or vBulletin (i think)-powered forums. in fact, i was one of the guys that supported mobile app adoption for the Blue Room. SoCal uses Tapatalk and it works great for them.

let's hope the next mobile version of NorCal FJs addresses the shortcomings of the current version!
