saw your post over on SoCal. congrats! i'd consider joining the Step Cal FJs group as they are based out of Lompoc. they head out on the trails frequently, are planning to adopt a trail or two and will be hosting AllCal next year (not in Lompoc).

Really simple, sand your wheels, mask your tire, primer and paint.  I used the wheel paint from Kragen. Be patient, Let the paint dry thoroughly in between coats and the temp outside should at least be in the 70s or higher. For more info, check out some wheel painting techniques on YouTube.
