Yup that's right, I have a big ole crack in the front window...anyone know a "great" Auto glass installer that has experience replacing FJ windshields?   Preferably in the East or South Bay.

Thanks,

John

Remember  to order the upper window trim, too.

Hey Evans,

Happy New Years!

You do not need to if done correctly...that's why I want a great installer not just a good installer...

I'm in the same boat..... got a massive crack the whole length of my windshield :-/
yes you don't need to if they know what they are doing. it can only be done once w/o the trim piece. they don't come in black so in my case it woulda had to have been painted.
they do come in black
Seems like an outbreak of this, my crack appeared about a week ago!

I got my 1st windshield chip during my day after Christmas trip to Reno,

Will not be replacing the windshield yet, it's still repairable.

Don't wait too long, with these night time temperatures.
I've got a few of those also....

What was that? A FJ without a crack in the windshield!  No way.  I much have 10+ chips and three cracks.  It is time to repair... but I took three rock hits on Monday along Hwy 50 in the Sacramento area.  I need to replace my glass.  Maybe with a new shield I won't receive any rock hits!

hey since there's a bunch of us have repairable or unrepairable windshield why dont we all do a group buy on a windshield...hahaha

I was thinking the same thing...Steve any thoughts? I found this post below in the Blue-room..sounds like a pretty good deal.  Maybe we can work a 10-20% discount for the group.

Windshield replaced in San Jose

Got mine windshield replaced @ Best Auto Glass in San Jose(903 Commercial St.) It seemed like they had some experiences in FJ. wnet in to get a quote on getting a big crack repaired, and they quoted $70 for th repair, but $190+tax for the after-market windshield replacement- of course went with the replacement. They didn't need to replace the molding, the job was done within 2 hours. pretty good!
