FJ Cruisers of Northern California
I decided to buy one after seeing them in BritMok's ride. Ordered it from Amazon.
Initial impression --
PROs:
Easy to install, nice and bright. Sometimes too bright.
CONs:
Replacing both with LED lights makes the cabin super bright. For me, it was too much.
Conclusion -- Buy it. It's better than the dimly lit incandescent alternative.

UPDATE since original POST - Snapped two pictures this morning unadulterated shots --
This one is the "modded" front one. Touched up with the RED dry erase pen. You can notice a little violet color, but definately not white anymore.
There is the shot of the rear dome lights, stock PUTCO, with no mods or coloring.

How did you mod the LEDs? I used dry eraser pens to test out colors. It works OK, and if you don't like it, just wipe it with a paper towel.
I will try your half-and-half idea. Thanks for the idea.
interesting...hadn't thought about using pens to color the lights. i bought colored LEDs from oznium.
I'm Chinese, therefore cheap. always looking for the shortcuts. ;)
You could look at running a couple resisters in line to the lights, that would be a cheap and easy way to dim them. Or if you wanted to get even fancier you could put a variable resister (aka potentiometer) inline and that would all you to dim on demand.
I've been thinking about doing this with my white Oznium leds I've been running for 4 years.
dimmer switch...oh, yeahhhh!
Sorry, this thread is turning from a review to a mod -- I hope that's ok with the Admins.
it's a review that was modded. :-)
the admins here are lollygaggers anyway...they won't mind.
