FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Sorry guys but due to the extreme weather coming at us, it looks like the best thing to do is to cancel this trip & try again in a couple months.  Thanks for all the great trail ideas, everyone.  This will give us a little more time to check out possible runs & make some solid plans.

Looks like we have some interest in wheeling either the 27th or 28th of December.  I'm not really sure where we'll go wheeling yet.  There are some suggestions in the discussion.  Anyone w/ pointers about where the best places to go would be given the snow.

So far, the suggestions are:

the Virginia City area (CV Kurt, can you get the trail names from the Battle Born Cruisers?)

?unknown? (TOE 4x4, you mentioned you had some trails in mind.  Please share.)

Middlegate Station (Click here for map provided by John from BozTec)

Washoe Valley (Estysalinas, please provide coordinates if you have them)

Crystal Peak & trails nearby (FJ Scout, need coordinates please)

If there's any other spots we should be thinking about or if you have reasons why any of these should be eliminated, speak up.

Ghost & I are thinking about cruising up this Saturday morning to scout out some of the locations above.  Before then, we'll check the TTORA site to see if there's any trails still open in the area.

Found a pretty cool site with a few local trails... http://www.trails.com/activity.aspx?area=15726

Thanks,

John

I'm up for the 27th or 28 we just need to find a good trail that's open.

Leonie is looking up the trails.  I'll update the thread when we nail down a date and place.

I'm a definite maybe.
Interested. Depending on when and where I'll prob make it. Always "interesting" when wheeling with John. =)

haha..I wonder if he is still willing to do stunts in his new FJ :)

I think the skinny pedal works the same in all FJ's... so all stunts previously preformed in the old FJ can be done in the new one.  Sounds like many of us are itching for one more wheeling experience this year.

lay off it on the trails, leadfoot.

Don't worry I have no desire to destroy another FJ.  Hopefully lesson learned...

Now let's get this trip organized...Any suggestions on dates?  I am off Dec 23-Jan 3rd, need to be home for Xmas day and I am on call Dec30-31.  Other than that I'll be in Tahoe boarding at Kirkwood.

I'm in if the finalized date works with my baby sitters (mom and dad). I'm off Friday at 12:20 until 1/3/11/

Based on my experience (riding shotgun) with the Sac area LC group, we will need to make sure we are all ready and prepared to pull ourselves and each other out if the snow pack is deep.

No skinny pedal. We talked about that. :)

Middlegate Station is a cool place I heard of.

Washoe Valley is nice, you can go from their across the mountains (off road part) to Virginia City.

....and a Cabela's close by! :-D

27-29th work for me.  Any 2 of those consecutive days
