Hollister Hills SVRA Trail Cleanup - Saturday, October 23

Cleanup is on: Rain or Shine!

hey gangaroo! it's that time again. time to head out to Hollister for some cleanup and wheeling.

Date: Saturday, October 23, 2010

Time: 9:30 AM (lunch will be provided)

Location: Hollister Hills SVRA (meet at the campgrounds near the old obstacle course)

Park fee: Free. Enter through the main gate near the schoolhouse and proceed up to the main campground. You will receive a day pass there.

Comms: CB - 31, FRS 7-31

Please RSVP on the Hollister Hills SVRA Trail Cleanup calendar event by Monday, October 18.

please post up if you wish to volunteer. it will be the same format as last time. if anyone wants to camp (night TBD), please post up as well. James, the organizer, is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones.

good question. although they will be providing trash bags and disposable gloves, it would help if you brought your own gloves (work gloves, etc.) to cut down on more waste and provide more protection for your hands. lunch is provided with water and sodas (i believe), so if you want something different to drink (non-alcoholic only) you can bring that if you want.

Yesterday I was at HH with Jason (strom) and an FJ (not from this forum but hopefully soon) and we picked up cans and bottles in the rock quarry. Once again Hector Heights was littered with garbage. I was picking up broken glass in the parking area up there but the bushes had cans, bottles, and other crap. I just don't understand some people.

Thanks so much for going out there to clean up.. I to do not understand people and why they must throw everything away like that but it takes good people like you, that help out to keep the park open..

Not sure if you have signed up yet but come on down next weekend and you will be fed lunch......
