FAQs

Q: I want a unit without the LVCO (low voltage cut off). If I am the only one who wants that configuration out of 20 orders, do I still qualify for the $276.00 price?

A: Yes. The bulk order is for total units and the discount will be spread across all kits with or without the LVCO option.

Q: I'm in NorCal. Will I be splitting the shipping cost amongst other NorCalers?

A: Yes. For example, 10 NorCalers and 10 SoCalers go in on the Group Buy. NorCal will incur the shipping cost for the bulk shipping rate of 10 units or $110.00. At $11.00 each, you are still saving $4.50 in shipping per unit.

Q: What if I want different colored light switches?

A: You will have to make that request when you place the order.

Q: How and when do I pay?

A: Payments can be made beginning the week before the Group Buy closes. Payment information will be sent via PM and can be made via PayPal or check. The Group Buy order will not be processed until all payments have been received.

Q: How long will it take to receive my sPOD unit after the Group Buy closes?

A: It generally takes up to 5-6 working days for buys up to 19 units and 6-14 working days for orders of 20-30+ units.

Q: I live in NorCal, but won't be able to pick up my kit in Alameda or won't be joining in on any trail runs or socials. Do I still have to pay double shipping (bulk shipping to Alameda and shipping to my home)?

A: Unfortunately, yes. Although members of NorCal FJs make every effort to make things convenient by setting up meeting times after a trail run or social, it is ultimately your responsibility to pay for additional shipping to your home if you cannot make arrangements to have someone pick up the kit for you.

Q: Is sales tax included in the group buy pricing chart?

A: No. Additional sales tax of 9.75% (LA County Sales Tax) will be added to the order.

Q: Can I get it without the switch panel?

A: The sPOD kit for the FJ does not come with a switch panel since the FJ already has switch ports in the center console and near the steering column.

yes this is the kind of nightmare that goes on in my head.... :-(. This is not something one would do to your own FJ!

However there are people who don't like any kind of off roaders...and if they see a vehicle parked and they have enough hate or ill will to damage someone else's property this is something that could be done since many winches are always live.

I want to safeguard against that scenario.
I also read on other forums there is a group called "Sierra" that do similar things on off-road vehicles.

In any case, I think removing the battery cable of the winch is the safest if you are really concerned, but even there, they could pry open the hood... or do any sort of damage to the vehicle then.
Yes it would be possible using the sPOD and an external relay and a bunch of other stuff. But the foolproof way and safest way would be the
