Slick Rock is currently scheduled for Saturday. more details, including the trail schedule, to follow in the coming weeks.

view the Slick Rock Trail description...video forthcoming.

here is some more helpful info regarding camping and wheeling:

Q: What do I need to bring?
A: Bring what you would normally bring camping. Tent, sleeping bags, etc. For driving, bring whatever recovery equipment you have (standard practice). If you have any additional spare parts, it's always a nice-to-have for the trails.

Q: What's the toilet situation?
A: There are two pit toilets available at the campgrounds. If you don't like to use pit toilets, you are more than welcome to bring your own PETT (environmental toilet). We do not recommend digging around the campgrounds.

Q: What is the food & beverage situation?
A: It is bring your own. However, you are encouraged to team up with others on some meals to prevent wasted foodstuffs and to help cut down on budget. Feel free to use this discussion thread to discuss food management or PM is good as well.

Q: Should I bring firewood? Are fires allowed? Are fire permits needed?
A: Yes, yes and yes. Firewood is also available at the Bear Valley Resort, but is always a little pricier. As of today, fires in fire rings are still allowed. We haven't had any fire restrictions in Bear Valley the previous years, so let's hope that remains the same this year. We will have one or two fire permits with us, so that should be good enough. However, having a fire permit is always recommended because you just never know when you'll want to head out camping. You can fax in your information for a campfire permit. Here is the link to access the .pdf California Campfire Permit request.

Q: Is there cellular signal at the campsite?
A: No. The nearest signal is at Bear Valley Resort up the road.

Q: Is there a campsite fee?
A: No. It is dispersed/undeveloped camping, so there is no fee. If, by some long shot, we need to move to a developed campground, then you will be responsible for paying fees onsite.

NorCal FJ Code of Conduct is in effect on this run.

Great time for sure despite the rain and the (second) bent tie rod, Argh!!!

So far it's Slick Rock 2, Bozly 0, but the third time will be a charm esp. when I'm sporting the new Boztec, can't wait to build them, tie rods.

Never the less, had a great time and really enjoyed meeting a lot of new people and having a good time in the mountains with you all. I hope we can all do this more cuz we do have a very special and unique group that works well together and can have a good time no matter what happens... even when we do have to roll jeeps back over.

Until next time and lets make it soon.

I have more video, shot almost an hour and a half. I'm uploading pictures right now, about 130, which i will post a link to once they are done sometime later this morning. I had a great time, thanks to all for a great time, got some great pictures of the scenery and the FJ's doing some amazing things.
Here is a link to the photos, let me know if it doesn't work. There are a few of our night run through Corral Hallow, and quite a few of the group during the Slick Rock Run.

good photo's
had a great time this weekend! the last obstacle on Slick Rock was a lot more difficult thanks to a pesky boulder that managed to find its way onto the trail, but luckily there was no major carnage (not counting the Bozly bent tie rod since it seems like he can fix those as fast as he can change a flat tire now...heh). i enjoyed Pine Flat on Friday as well. most of all, it was great just catching up with everyone at camp and on the trail. i've got a lot of video footage to sort through, but will try to get a video up sooner than later. thanks again to everyone who came out and endured the rain.
Had a great time. It was good to renew bounds with old friends after my 2 year dissapearance, and made new friends as well.
On our way out Donna and I went the long way around through Markleeville to get back into the Blue lake area. We did the trail from Blue lake to Red lake on 88, rocky but still would qualify as a green rated trail. The views were great, and still came accross two skiers who did not want to let the winter go... or maybe they were training for the new one to come :o)

skiing in August...awesome! beautiful scenery out there.
Hi!
I just went to Les Schwab to have my wheels aligned because the last obstacle... well was kind of hard on my FJ. It seems there is no damage of any kind.
Also, when the wheels were misaligned I had all the VSC ligts in the dashboard but again now it's all fixed.

The fender bulges are getting worse: the door scratches against the fender when I open them. I put some synthetic grease and it seems to ease the problem, no noise at least, but I need to have those fixed. As it is still under warranty, anybody knows if dealers are willing to work on this?

Back to Slickrock, tonight I will post the pictures I've taken.
Good luck on that warranty Manoweb...
where did you first get your bulges?...SnT? i have slight bulges, but still don't have any problems with the doors, knock on wood. regardless, it is now time for you to buy this t-shirt!
I had an AWESOME time this weekend....despite the random moments of hail and rain. I must say though, the weekend flew by way too quickly. As always, good times with great folks! I have more seat time under my belt and more scraps under my truck.
