NorCal FJs

FJ Cruisers of Northern California

We are planing a run to Long Canyon.

We will follow the schedule of the previous run organized by DWH. All info can be found here:
http://norcalfjs.com/forum/topics/long-canyon-trail-run-062610

Trail Meeting Point and Directions:

Saturday 8/14/10
Time: 9:00, leave at 9:15.

A good meeting point is the Safeway parking lot in Cameron Park. The address is actually Shingle Springs on most map software.

3380 Coach Ln, Shingle Springs, CA 95682

This should give us plenty of space and a place to pick up any last minute items.

The cheapest gas is at the ARCO-AM/PM off of the Cambridge exit in Cameron Park, or Costco in Folsom.

Communication:
CB - Ch 31
FRS - 7/31
Mobile phones do not work well in the trail area.

* W A R N I N G *
Be prepared for changeable weather.

Take extra food&water supplies in case we get lost.

The list:
1. GHOST
2. magicthechemist
3. FJ4 Tahoe

Sorry it took me awhile to respond just got home from work. i wouldnt mind leading as long as you guys dont mind if i take a wrong turn or two and i drive rather slow as a fair warning. I have a pretty good memory of the trail but just hazy bout certain turns but once i am actually on the trail, it should be fine. If ne thing just give me a txt at 916-320-0927 i live out in the middle of nowhere so cell phone coverage is spotty but txting works fine. So how many rigs and who has what equipment? Sat or Sun?
That's great! We will not mind getting lost - we will take extra food.

Let's do Sat. I will post details later on. I have a deadline at work at 1AM and I need to finish my stuff first.

I have a hi-jack and a shovel, maybe a powertank if I can get it fixed tomorrow. No towing rope and no spare parts.
I'll pick up a tow strap and some D links. Saturday it is.
Did you get your powertank working?
Yes. Your are welcome to use it.
Ok. I usually dont air down but i might so thats good to know. See ya in the morning.
Instead of going on a run, you should come help me move instead. I am sure it will be more fun than a run!!
could do that also =) i could come by afterwords if u need help.
Probably going to do a run of Gold Valley trail sunday also if we run long canyon saturday or vice versa. I ran the deer lake trail last time but only got to gold lake and came back home. So if ne one wants to tag along for that lmk. Gold Valley trail is located in the plumas national forest, up past downieville up hwy 49.
We'll be there at 9 am...925-570-1450
see you there!

I had a great run and great time with new friends. Biggest thanks should go to Ghost who did great job leading our group of 4.
We did a good job and came back without any damage (not counting few scratches) although we had a scary moment too.
