FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Greetings NorCal!

How's everyone doing this off-season? Getting the itch to wheel come May?

As you know, we created five regional NorCal FJ decals a while back and we are due for another batch. This time, we are going to add five new designs - the likenesses of landmarks in Northern California.

So far, we have two likenesses locked in: the Capitol building and Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Now, we need three more and would like to ask you for suggestions. What other landmark likenesses would you want to see on a decal? The basic template (circular with FJ in front - see below) will remain the same, but the background will reflect the landmark.

So, should Mt. Shasta have its own decal? How about the hangar at Moffett Field? The tufa formations in Mono Lake?

Please submit your suggestions here on this thread by February 28, 2010. From there, we will create a poll and the top three landmark suggestions will move on to become a part of the second round of NorCal FJ decals.

And for those of you who want any of the original five decals, we will have those re-produced as well. Note: the FJ grills will all have "NORCAL" written on them, unlike what is seen in the image below.

Suggestions:
  • lake with granite
  • Mt. Tamalpais
  • coastline with breaking waves/ocean
  • Half Dome
  • Bixby Bridge
  • agriculture/Central Valley
  • vineyard
  • California mission
  • Gold Country (mining towns, miner, pickaxe, gold pan, mine cart with gold in it)
  • California poppy
  • Bigfoot

"A big-o green pot leaf"

Just another good thing Norcal is famous for ;)
It appears that everywhere we go and anything we do it includes alchohol. How bout a something with a beer?
I like the idea of Half Dome and would love a set of the original five if you just tell me what I need to do to buy. If you wanted to do something of a central valley theme there are a bunch of us in Stockton. I think if you could pull of a picture of a car-jacking that would be cool... OK just kidding... I like the grapes/wine country idea as well. I was also thinking graphic depictions of the trails would be cool like Hell Hole on the plate with a devil in the background of the FJ, or Fordice with some dice I don't know exactly, but I'm planting a seed for a train of thought.
how about customize stickers with our nicknames...hehehe
Thanks for your suggestions! We have updated the OP with some of them. Keep 'em coming!
How about some waves? ocean break. We all see or pass the bay or ocean weekly if not daily.
i like mt tam, half dome and coast line with waves.
I'd like to chime in and second the coastline with breaking waves. I was also thinking of some of the landmarks I overlook but am always impressed by when reminded of them like the California missions, or some of the awesome mining towns. For example, when I think of Coloma, Placerville, Nevada City, and any of the other towns along highway 49 I think of revolvers and saloon doors. That's about as classic a Norcal Icon as you can get. Also, the image of a miner by a stream with a pick ax or gold pan or both. Did anyone mention the California Poppy? Not a landmark, but neither is the bear...
One more day to make suggestions! The OP has been updated with your ideas (sans those of the "alternative" variety). We will create a poll next week to vote for the Top 3 that will be added to the next set of decals. Thanks!
how 'bout Bigfoot?
