Hmm... maybe that's a good thing for my beginning drivers (like me)?

I thought it was something to do with closing it. I was about to crap a chicken.
Watch out for the beak and claws.
Yes I was talking about this with one of the Board of directors and this was a good thing. This will allow people to use the by-passes instead of getting stuck in the middle of the trail.. This is one way to comply with the water board trying to bring legal action (we hope).. Of course this is another reason to catty WAG bags for Human waste and a spill kit for oil..

Rubicon has many people that work hard to keep it open. RTF (Rubicon Trail Foundation) and FOTR (Friends Of The Rubicon) are great organizations to get involved with either by volunteering on one of the work days or by making a cash contribution. Watch out for the dates of the work parties..

Thanks DWH for posting the link...
As I was reading the article, I could not decide if it was good news or bad. In the end I agree with Boss, it keeps the trail open and the option to take the original trail is still there.
thanks for posting D. this was also posted two weeks ago on NorCal FJ NewsShare. as commented there, it's good that this compromise will keep the Rubicon open, but i'm not sure that encouraging a bunch of new drivers to drive the trail will help eliminate the main issues at hand: 1) knowing the right way to clean up after one's self (aka pooping in a bag) and 2) having the needed seat time to minimize carnage and/or possessing necessary clean-up equipment when things go wrong.
I guess I missed the article on the NewsShare.
