FEEDBACK ON MAXXIS TREPADOR BIGHORN AND CREEPY CRAWLER TIRES

Hey Guys!! How are you all doing??

As some of you guys know already I went back to France to take over the family business (I ship my FJ though ;-). Our company distributes tires in France and Western Europe. We also have about 100 retail stores (Big O Tires Type) in France.

Today we have the opportunity to sell MAXXIS tires in France. MAXXIS is famous in the US for offroad vehicles but not as developped in Europe. That is why I am coming to you! I would like to have your feedback on MAXXIS TREPADOR, BIGHORN, and CREEPY CRAWLER if you have ever used them on your FJ!

Thank you all for your help!

Cheers,

I have Maxxis Bighorns (255/85 R-16) and love them. They were cheap,$125 per and have been great on and off road. Well, except for the time I ran over a pair of pliers and one of the handles went straight through the tread...yes...f'ing pliers. Other than that, my only complaint is they seem to have a lot of rotational resistance and gas milage suffers. I am not the typical case, my FJC is supercharged, has 4.88s and the Bighorns don't help any....14 mpg is about what I get.

Much better than my other sets of tires:
Super Swamper LTBs = Noisy, Extremely rough ride (bias ply) and chunking.
Super Swamper SSRs = Still noisy, cracked sidewalls after 8,000 miles, even more chunking.
BFG AT KOs= Great road tire and decent off road if you don't mind sliced up side walls, horrible wet weather handling.
Stock Bridgestones= bring teh suck
Hey gsgmac!!

I appreciate your detailed answer!!! It is really helpful!!

Take care,

Matouc
