A friend of mine just sent this to me.

Also, there is a meeting at the park on the 28th of Dec. Last Day for Carnegie.

I'll post more info when I get it but in the meantime go here http://www.carnegieforever.org/ and electronically sign the petition.

Keep Carnegie open!
thanks to everyone for your support in this. here's the thing...this isn't only relevant to us off-roaders. if this kind of action continues, we will soon lose trails that we use to get to: our favorite fishing holes, our favorite family campsites, our favorite hiking trail heads, our favorite getaways, etc.

so if you know anyone who uses 4x4s to get to their "spots," please be sure to alert them about this petition. we're not talking a private trail here, this is a revenue generating state park. in fact, one of the reasons why SVRAs did not get hacked when the Gov. Terminator proposed closing state parks is the fact that they actually generated revenue for the state. so please go beyond our group and find out the many other friends and families that will be affected by potential closures to state parks (the ones that our tax dollars fund and should be considered "our land").
Well said tater.. Also know that there are people out there just looking for a reasons to close down trails.

It would also be cool if we could get people like mtn bikers on our side as well. they tend to use the same types of trails as we do and if places get closed down they will have no place to go as well...
Wow. I just read the court petition. My friend, Tim Scully, knows Daphne Green listed in the plaintiffs. She works for the State Parks and Recreation.
I'll see what I can find out about this from her perspective.
any additional information would be greatly appreciated...thanks Mo!
Thanks Bozly. Just signed.. it's up to 7707 as of 12/23 19:30. Does anyone know what time the meeting is at Carnegie? If I can make it after work, I'll definitely go.
many folks are planning to show their support for saving Carnegie beginning this weekend at 8:00 AM Saturday. among those who will be in attendance are motorcycle racing legends who will be making appearances throughout the weekend. The Blue Ribbon Coalition is also hosting a ride along on Monday. please show your support if you are free this weekend.

The park will remain open until January 6th, maybe longer.

On Monday, December 28th, the First District Court of Appeals, in San Francisco, issued a “temporary stay”, as requested by the Attorney General’s office on behalf of California State Parks. The order from the Appellate Court prevents enforcement of the lower court ruling that would have closed the park on December 29th. Plaintiffs in the case now have until January 6th to respond to the petition filed by the Attorney General and demonstrate why there would be irreparable harm, if any, from permitting or prohibiting off-highway vehicle activity in the park, until the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board takes action on the ROWD filed by State Parks. State Parks has until January 11th to respond to the plaintiff’s brief.

The park remains open until the Court of Appeals renders its final decision.
thanks for posting.

did anyone go to Carnegie today?
