FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Took new FJ on first trails last week. Stawberry Trail south (easy version). Gonna go again this Sunday. Anyone up for a run? I'm open to suggestions. I'm a newbie but open to run whatever you think a stock FJ can handle. Be great to run with you more experienced guys/girls to learn a little more. Bz said he may be down. Who'd like to join?

Are you proposing to do Strawberry again or just any trail?
I may be interested in either one.
Did you do Strawberry from 50 to 88 or the otherway?
Looks like we are gonna do Red Dog in Grass Valley. I went up 50 for Strawberry. Soon as Bz and I work out meet time and place I'll update the message post to include all details.
October 4 th?
I was gonna give daPitt a ride up to Grass Valley on the 4th anyway lets go!
I'm in. Where should we meet? Newcastle off ramp at gas station? I can be there by 11:00 am. Can do earlier if needed but work till 3:00 am so sleepy time is needed. But whatever. I'll sack up for a good days run. Let me know and I'll modify the post to include meet time and place.
I might be able to make it.
What trails have you been on so far to date...before your FJ? Strawberry is cool but only has one real challenge, getting around Paint Rock :)

Did one a long time ago around a place called Bass Falls or Bassi Falls I think. Was told the trail is closed now. When I moved to Hawaii i sold my truck so I haven't actualy had a car for 3 years. Hence ability to save and buy my FJ! Anyway was long time ago. Never actully got on the north trail at Strawberry. Being a newbie in a stock FJ I was a little timid to do it on my own.
Bassi Falls was a nice little day trip, it has in fact been closed for about 4-5 years now, you can hike back there but no more wheeling. In our imediate area (within an hours drive or less) your truck is good to go (stock) on the Strawberry Trail, Long Canyon (Mushroom Rock), the river bed (Red Dog) and there is always Praire City OHV Park to play around and test your rig at.

Soon there will be snow, and Iron Mountain (Mormon Imigrant Trail) is a popular day trip or even good for snow camping. Not sure if they plow Wentworth Springs now or not, that used to be another good run up through Auburn, Georgetown, and out past Stumpy Meadows to Uncle Toms Cabin.
Here are the GPX files and the thread from the last trip.

I was up at red dog two weeks ago and marked the way in the gps so no more back and forth looking for the entrance
Red Dog (Greenhorn), you go through Colfax or Grass Valley? I used to always go through Colfax.
