Slickrock, Deer Valley and thereabouts 2009
August 20-23 (Thursday - Sunday) - NOTE: Date change!
Level: Moderate - Difficult

NOTE: the dates have changed.

just posting up a placeholder for the Slickrock run. this year, we will add Deer Valley. we will schedule separate group runs in the area and will include easy and moderate trails depending on the response. as usual, you are not required to be present from the first day. you can arrive and depart as you please. more details, including the trail schedule, to follow in the coming weeks.

I do not believe that I will lose my job or anything like that. But they are talking unpaid time off and pay cuts....

Everything is up in the air right now.. I knew it was coming, just don't know when a final decision will be made..

Thank for the offer, this is why I love this group.. WE always have each others back!!!!

good question. my original intent was to establish a base camp and run Slickrock on Friday and Deer Valley out and back on Saturday with, perhaps, Pine Needle on the way out on Sunday. however the easiest way would be to camp at base camp on Thursday night and after Slickrock on Friday and at the end of Deer Valley trail on Saturday.

unfortunately, my status is now very iffy due to the fact that i just started a new job and my spare is flat. i would encourage someone to keep this run active though. i may be able to join up on Friday.

We're ready to leave Thursday morning, but we've never done this trip, and are not sure where to go. I'd have a hard time leading anything. Steve, who on the list went last year?

WHO is leaving THURSDAY that has done this trip??

Steve, I really hope you can make it Friday! I would not be the same without you!

I'm searching for fire restrictions, but cannot find anything specific. Definite restrictions in ElDorado Nat Forest & Rubicon, but nothing specific for our trip. Do you know?

Tater - Congrats on the new gig! I know I speak for many others when I say I hope you can still make it to slick rock.

If I may offer a suggestion for the itinerary: I'd really like to do slick rock but will not be up there until friday evening. Could we do slick rock either saturday or sunday? Of course, if that doesn't work...no worries, just a suggestion.

We definately need to keep this run active, I don't mind being the substitute point person, but perhaps someone who is going to be there for the whole weekend would be better.

the schedule is always open and folks can pick and choose runs they want to do, so if the early group wants to do Deer Valley on Friday and Slickrock on Saturday that is fine. i think a few of us have run both trails already, so we may be more flexible to lead a run.
