I am down for this as well. From what I have read was there need to be 12v at a certin point at the proper connection. As long as the computer seethat this connection has 12v it will engage atract with the rear diff locked.. I am looking into doing some wireing this week for trailer ligtht i the FJ. I will do some more research and stuff. I may even try it on Wednesday if I have enough time later in the day.
What are the bad stories yo uheard annie?? I am just curious..
Ann, are you talking about the rear locker and ATRAC working at the same time? For early models, you need to do a hack but for the newer models, all you need is the switch if you have the rear locker. My build date is 12/06 and I just installed the switch and the rr locker and atrac work at the same time.
Yes, the hack so that the A-Track and Rear Diff Lock can be used at the same time.
Boss, someone in the Blue Room blew out a $1000 ECU board on the trucks computer while attempting the hack. One wrong wire in the wrong place can be very costly. We'd like to avoid that. Mark is very worried about this, so he only wants to do it if he can find someone who's done it before. Otherwise, we'll skip it and do it later.
Ray, we bought ours is Jan 2007 but I don't know the exact manufacture date. The Trail Teams guys said we needed the full hack.
I was hoping Nester or 5150 or one of the other wiring guru's who had done this before could help/teach??
print out the the set of instructions of the hack you what to do (there are 3 different ones I can think of I) and I'll hook you up, come on Ann you know I got you guys =)
