FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hi, where do you think it is allowed to properly wash the engine? It's not *that* dirty, but there is a lot of dust.

I do not know if it is allowed or not, but I clean my FJ (engine too) when it is real dirty at the car wash by the Post Office on Delaware St in San Mateo. It is a coin-op, with high pressure good for getting Hollister mud off.
The address for the post office is, 1630 S Delaware St, San Mateo, CA. The car wash is just North of the post office.
just don't spray the alternator. the joint that 5ANDY speaks of actually has an engine wash mode (soft spray) that you can use.
I think this is the one we went together last summer right?
yup, it's where i wash my truck.
and also, don't spray so that the mud drips down into the alternator
I'm ashamed, I do not remember where is the alternator :) I can find it tomorrow but give me an hint where to look for it :)

open up your eyes............
it was dark when I asked :)
No affiliation to the business, but I recommend http://www.sanjoseautosteamcleaning.com/ to have your engine bay steam cleaned rather than wash it.
actually, that would be pretty cool. a buddy of mine used to work in a shop and they had one. used it on my old engine to make it all sparkly clean. it even tore off old chipping paint from what i recollect.
any idea what is the cost for this service?
