Nice. Some good advice would be to go find a quite parking lot and take a buddy with you.
Run that cable all the way out to the last five rotations on the drum and then hook up to a friends vehicle and under a little load, pull that cable tight onto the drum by pulling your buddies vehicle to you.
Spool it evenly from right to left, or whichever direction your drum is wound, in single layers until fully spooled tight.
That way when you use the winch the next time, even if you only spool out 25 feet, you will be pulling onto tight cable and will not cut into loose cable which can cause nicks and twists and cuts in the cable.
Then after each use do this again to keep the cable tight. It will last forever if you don't damage it.
Steve.
