oh, thanks apple, all upside down, wonderful ,but  you get the idea. The pics where right way up here, sorry.

Steve.

i picked up a can yesterday how easy was it?

"weeding" the surrounding paint was easy, use a tooth pick  and go sow. Do not let the plasti-dip dry in the sun, I think that makes "weeding" more difficult. I know this because I tried red on the front grille TOYOTA  and then weeding was difficult off the plastic. And the red was not red it was salmon pink. I re-shot the front logo in black

Here: wow, whats up with my upside down pics, sorry guys they are correct when I load them.

I wonder if apple hates me, all my recent downloads are upside down! apologies for that.

I am going to upload these pics to my page, please look there, hopefully they are right way up.:>)

Please look at my page for pics right way up, sorry guys, don't know what happened here.

Thanks to the bro's from the Prairie City get together for their encouragement on doing this.

Paul, it is easy and fun and cheap try it. Great easy results.

Steve.

im going to try it this weekend.

Looks great Steve! My only warning is now you will be looking for things to dip!

Hey all.  This sounds pretty interesting and easy.  Is "Plastidip" the brand name to look for or is that what doing this is called?

Both a noun and a verb. ;-)

I've done a lot of dip on my car lol did the wheels, mirrors, handles, bezel, rear bumper, and hood decal in black. Also the gas tank cover and spare wheel, since tire is unusable, in white just to see how it looks. I like the stuff!

I still need to try this. That stuff looks amazing.

It really is easy. The stuff adheres to your final surface and is easily "weeded" from surrounding areas. Mask off around the area to be plasti-coated and then spray several coats at 30 min intervals. Wait 4 hours ( +/- ) and peel the masking off and get your toothpicks ready to pick off the overspray.

I used Performix Plasti Dip brand black and Rust-Oleum brand Flexi-Dip Red.

I think the red was not very good, more salmon pink than red so I blacked my front "Toyota" grille, looks fine and very "blacked-out" !!

These spray cans are available at H-D and Lowes about $5 a can.

Steve.

The plasti-dip (the original brand) Red is pretty good, I've used it before on other things (rc cars).

I'm actually in the planning stages of plasti-dipping my miata... I just can't justify paying to have the car painted for more than I bought it for! lol.
