Help locating a mechanic for an inspection

Hi, I understand this is off-topic but I would like an advice...

My wife is considering buying an used car. I would need a name or a recommendation of an independent mechanic that would check it on a lift and see if there is rust etc etc, in other words all the inspection due when you buy an used car.

I live in Foster City but I accept recommendations in the whole bay area, as there is a car she likes in San Jose'.

PS if you know a good mechanic that understands off-roading and FJs too, this thread wouldn't be off-topic but highly interesting ;)

My mechanic would do it.

It's called All-speed motors on 26th and clement in San Francisco.

Getting an inspection done pre-sale is a good idea, most shops and dealers will charge an hour of labor for that. As far as one in SJ? I don't know the area that well any major dealer (the make of the car in question) in the area should be cool
As for the FJ we have 3-4 members that will help you out, Garret or myself, what is up with the FJ?

Dealers tend to have big shops that you are not allowed to go into. I would like to see by myself what's under the car on the lift and and stay with the mechanic while he checks. At least this is what I used to do when I was in Italy :)

For the FJ, nothing in particular, but I feel like after some hard trail, one should have somebody that really knows the implications of offroading to have a look to keep everything in order.

yeah, san francisco is a little far. of course i will go with you so that i can introduce the two of you. he is very friendly, and i go into his shop and look at whatever he is working on. of course there is liability to get hurt and all of the precautions, but if you want to, you can go in and inspect. just dont sue my guy.

im across the street from him every mornings from monday to friday, 8am - 11am.

This liability thing in USA is annoying. Of course I want to see the car lifted, I used to go under the lift with my dad since I was a child :)
