I've finally started my build,  Dana 60 HP for the front and Sterling 10.25-35 spline for the rear.  ONE TONSNext step to get the rear, then install gear and lockers. Then fully armor them out the califab way!! Then the true fun will begin......42 inch wrangler MTRs, Dual cases, Exo cage, rear plate bumper, beadlocks, 14" fox coilovers, 3 link front, the rear is undecied, (either 3 link or leafs).....STAY TUNED FOR MORE FUN....the build thread will be on Califabrication; instagram or facebook....

Damn!

This is crazy.

Where will you attach a spare tire ? On a trailer ?

I'm gonna make a custom rear plate bumper and have a swinging tire carrier on it, and ill be using a spindle for the pivot point to handle all that weight.

Omg, those are bigger than the entire wheel well. Unless you put a major lift, you will be doing some serious frame alterations. I'm impressed, but also worried. Hope you can pull this off

The lift will be 100% custom made, 3 link with panhard bar up front with 14" coilovers and some custom leafs in the rear. And there wont be too many frame modifications other than reinforcement and alot of custom brackets. The axles are 4 inches overall wider so the wheel will stuff in the wells nicely once I move the front axle forward and the rear backward.

Why not link the rear as well? You looking at around 20 inches of wheel travel? Or more droop? Haha sorry for all the questions! Just planning of building a crawler of my own soon..

I was originally going to link the rear but I wanted to run coilovers and not just coils so it would've required me to cut into the rear floor and re-box it back in so Im trying to avoid that for now but still may do it in the future. It will be a lot more droop than it will up travel considering Im gonna try n keep it as low as I can without sacrificing too much uptravel.

Hey Chance,

So are your new axles installed? everything working?  Let's see some pictures

Im still building the axles and getting the parts together. Im not going to start cutting into the FJ until i have all my parts so it wont be put down for too long...gonna cut and fab up my knuckles and high steer arms this weekend and gears next weekend.

I love my MTR's!! even though they are much... much smaller than those lol

I cant wait to try them out!!!
