You might be able to camp on the Genoa Peak Trail.

Yea you can camp there as long as its within 100 feet of the trail, I think. I camped there last summer with a fellow member here without any issue

If you ever make it down to Mammoth i know where there are 2 hot springs. they are really easy to get to.
