Hello All,

I've seen this thread on other forums, looks like fun...I'll get it started.

I drove my rig to work (first time I've had it out in a few weeks).  Took it in for a wash..

Looks great! I have the same grill but I shot mine with bedliner including the silver studs

It was so nice out I wanted to be out in it all day so I did a few small projects...blacked out my emblems and made a camera cover for yhe spare. It needed something to clean it up.

Happened this weekend but got the Windows tinted and blacked out the Toyota badge on the grill.

Met up with BZ and did our Bumper trade. Huge relief to finally have a real bumper on this thing. Cleaned it up, gave it a good paint job, bam! Looks great. Going to fabricate a cover for the winch area for temporary use until I get a winch.

Lights Install yesterday!

Many many thanks again NestahEdition! It was a true honor meeting you and seeing that Beast Machine of yours.

looks good, and BRIGHT.

Nestah  is the Man.

Steve.

Fixed the squeaky Camburg UCA... damned grease fell off one of the metal washers. As soon as I re-greased it, the squeaking stopped, but then I could here the other start squeaking. Gonna have to do that one when I get a chance.

Changed my oil/filter today. $5 filter ( 10 for $50 trdpartsforu Dallas) $5.27qt ( $126/ 24 qts Petroleum Service. Kendal GT-1 0w-20 synthetic)

Had issues with the factory front engine skid nuts. Stripping after 4 oil changes , not good. Will drill and re-tap tomorrow for 3/8-18 bolts. I use anti-seize on these bolts each time but the factory use cheap captivated nuts. Never seen such cheap holders in my years of doing own repair.

I wonder does anyone know if aftermarket skids use these same factory nuts?

Steve Hope

Today I removed the front two tin skid plate bolts and re-drilled 5/16 for 3/8-16 std thd bolts. All good now.

Question still on aftermarket skids; do they require re-using these cheap nuts to mount their skids? Or  do you need to ( preferred IMHO ) drill and tap at new locations?

Thanks,

Steve Hope
