I had this work done 2 months ago. The anchors in the suicide doors need strengthening plates. The local dealer put a ding in my drivers side suicide door during this recall and I had to have the vehicle back to them for a day so they could send it out to a local body shop for the ding fix.  The body shop did a great job, cant tell it was dinged, but what a black-eye to the dealer!!!!

I recently read that only 25% of recall work gets performed, people are lazy, lose the notice or forget about it. I have a receipt that says mine was upgraded. There are 2 other recalls or FJ's, one is for factory off-road lights bumper mounted and the other is for TRD upgrade factory brakes with clearance issues for the hoses.

Steve Hope.

I took my FJ to my local dealership today for the recall/remedy.

The reinforcement kit for the seat belt anchor is secured to the suicide door frame with 8 rivets and two M6 bolts.

Thanks for posting the picture; I was curious what that reinforcing plate looked like. My FJ is in the shop for this right now.

How long did you have to wait at the dealership?

Dropped it off at 9:15 for maintenance service, e-brake adjustment, and the recall fix and got the call to pick it up at 2:45...so 5.5 hours.

I waited for it and the ineffecient techs took them 2.5 hours to put the reinforcement kits.

I even removed the suicide door panels before I took the FJ in, thinking that the installation will be quicker.
