FJ Cruisers of Northern California
So thanks to tater (Steve), i received a PM that Toyota was looking for "real FJ Owners" to possibly participate in an up coming commercial. I called up the casting agency, had a couple "auditions" so to speak, they took some pics and low and behold i will be participating in the commercial next week.
The director is still looking for a couple more FJ's to be in the commercial. If your interested, please contact..
Steve at 917-364-5076
Or email him at..
steverudy@mac.com
If you email him, make sure to email a couple pics of your Fj. They don't need to be in an off road setting, just something that shows the mods. Tell him Brandon from Norcal FJ's sent you. Thanks all. Good luck and have a great day!

Fantastic! It was such an awesome experience to be a part of. I have a new found respect for those in the film industry. There must have been close to 60 to 80 people total involved in the shoot. From the directors, camera people, stunt/precision drivers, producers, production, transport team, rigging, etc. Everyone had their specific job to do. Its amazing what goes into just a 30 sec. commercial spot. I can only imagine what a 1/2 hour or hour TV show let alone a full movie requires.
The drivers were awesome. Very professional and knew what they were doing. Also great to talk too as well. I'll get some pics up hopefully tomorrow.
just making me feel worse and worse for not being able to go... haha i'm glad you had a great time though and cannot wait to see those pictures and the finalized commercial whenever they finish it.
It takes 7 (12 -16 hour) days to shoot a 1 hour t.v. show. I was always impressed with the craft service food spread on sets. Sounds like you had some fun :)
A few pics from the photo shoot
NBC channel out of New York had a general Toyota commercial this morning that included, what looked like, a snippet out of this shoot. It looked like 5150's rig going thru a creek, followed by a 4Runner (I think). Then it looked like it might be Nestor's next, but the snippet moved on to other Toyota models.
We need someone to record/find it and upload it to YouTube.
I can't seem to find anything on Google or YouTube.
I was literally walking out the door to go to work when it caught the corner of my eye as I was filling up my coffee cup. I think my wife was watching the Today Show on the east coast feed. I will watch for it again. It is only a flash of a scene in a much longer commercial, but it definitely looked like 5150's rig after comparing what I recall on the screen to the photos in 5150's post above. I didn’t think about it til now, I presumed it was a Toyota U.S. commercial and not a regional dealer assn. one, but I will watch for it.
Awesome! Glad to see its starting to circulate! Can't wait to see it myself!
Hey Nestor, did the production crew ever share after shoot interview and us splashing in the mudd? Haven't been able to find it on youtube.
Here is the YouTube version
