FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Ive had my TT FJ for about a year now and honestly.. I could not find a group that was closer to home.. I hope that I will have a chance to meet you all and hopefully have the guts to take my FJ out on the trails one of these days.. I still need to get over the fear of scratching it.. I probably have one of the most spoiled FJs in Norcal.. Hope to meet you all soon!!

Welcome aboard, I have a TTE as well. Once you get over the fear it is alot of fun, though I am not that experienced myself either.
FJcalata I will tell you now if you wheel you will scratch your rig.. Its just he way it is sometimes. When the choice is slip off the side of the cliff or steer in the branch and make it up the trail ??

We were all the at first.. Trust me though your first one will suck but better to scratch it out on the trail having fun then someone giving ya a door ding in a parking lot ...

Come on out on he next Hollister run

Boss
welcome Fjcalata! if you are feeling slightly uncomfortable about scratching up your rig, then at least join us at Hollister one of these days to ride jumpseat with someone and see how capable and fun the FJ is. but i'm with the other guys...better to get your first scratch on the trail where you will see great sights and have a lot of fun than having it come from some idiot at the mall.
Welcome. As the other members said, the first one is hardest, but you will get over it. And atleast with the TT, your's won't show as bad ;o), I have a Brick and every brush scratch is white until I get the buffer out and do some work.
I guess its bound to happen sometime, might as well get a scratch while having fun.. right? now rolling over might be a differ story.. but im not thinking of doing that yet.. The first time i decided to get my feet dirty is when i went camping in Jackson with the family.. lets just say i got stuck because i was having too much fun (got to close to the lake.. i was in the lake!!).. thank god for AAA.. im a newbie, no doubt about that.. im still figuring out when and how to do things with the gears and all the buttons the TTE comes with.. well now, i just might take your offer and check out Hollister.. sounds like good fun!!
It's called "trail cred", and you'll have so much fun getting them you won't care. :-)
Unless you are scraping against rocks any scratches you might get will only be in the clear coat. A good wax before and after will keep them to a minimum. Also as stated by DaveF2, you have a color that will not show them too much.
Welcome, hope to see you on the trails soon.
I got my TT last may, in June I went on my first trail run with these guys (WAMP). The trail was about 5 feet wide with thick brush on both sides. The first five minutes was painful, but my focus quickly shifted to the enjoyment of being out on the trail and and how impressive a stock FJ is on the trail. With the white, the pin stripes hardley show at all. Get out there on the trail, get a couple scratches and have a great time with an incredible vehicle.

Glad to have another TT in the group, looking forward to meeting you.

Welcome...hope to see you on one of the meet and trail runs
