FJ Cruisers of Northern California

....so, I decided to go back to my USMC roots and paint the FJ.  As you will see from the pics I had a 2007 Titanium Metallic with white top and roof rack.  I will now have the bottom 1/3 with a line-x type material (same stuff they use on cars at Bonneville, stronger than LInex-X and Rhino, but way lighter) and the upper 2/3rds will be flat 686a tan.  Emad and his son Mike at Airport Auto Care in South San Francisco are working on the FJ as I type.  If you need paint work or body work done, these are the guys to go to.  I'll post progress pics and finals when they are all done.  Here is the before and the sanding portion from today.

looks good man cant wait to see how it turns out!

Thanks, I'm pumped!  I only had to wait forever to get this done.  Once the boss (aka my wife) allows me to spend more of the money I make it will be a stage 1 suspension.

Sounds Great.. show pics when done.  I also am in need of some body work and paint..  Ha Ha

OUCH!!!!!  Hit up my guys listed above and tell them Mike with the FJ sent ya!

More prep work being done today, paint tomorrow!

starting to look nice dude! looks like you have some on the plastic trim though, like the fender flares and everything, were you planning on painting those too or keeping them plasticy?

The bottom 1/3 of the rig is going to have this high speed Line-X type coating on it, way lighter and stronger than Line-X or Rhino Liner.  That paint/Line-X line will be basically at the plastic fenders straight around the entire rig, to include the bumpers (since I don't have the cash for new bumpers at the moment).  I am also having this coating applied to the grill and front portion of the hood (the little front hood trim piece) since this coating is so strong and will not chip or scratch.  It should be done by Tuesday!
