FJ Cruisers of Northern California
Hi Everyone! I purchased a '12 FJ manual 6 speed back in December. Just looking for advice/opinions on areas where I can off-road and have some fun. Not necessarily interested in OHV parks but more wilderness type off roading.
I previously drove an F150 supercrew that was lifted 6" with Nitto 33's. This was a big truck that took up alot space and many times straddling narrow steep roads. I took it places I probably shouldn't have but managed to survive. I got the FJ for the potential to have lot's of fun and go even further but nothing crazy like rock crawling. This is also my daily driver. Right now looking at Extreme Motorsports in Brentwood to do the lift for me since i am not able to do this myself.
See you on the road...and hopefully off!

Welcome to the site. If you can hold off on the lift install I am sure you will find a few on here that will help you with the install for trade of a good meal and a few beers. This option will not only save you money but will also give you more knowledge of your new toy.
Congrats on the FJ. Give Bz a shout he has worked on pretty much everyone's fj on this forum and he knows his stuff. See you on the trails

Howdy!
Thanks! You live in Yosemite? That is my favorite place on urth and I'm there quite a bit. My profile pic is just past the first tunnel on St Patricks Day week-end. Found out there was going to be a storm so I drove up as quick as possible so I could experience the FJ in snow. Fantastic!
Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the site!
Welcome to the group and congrats on the new toy!
Definitely take Barricade's advice and seek help of some members here. Many are more than willing to help, all are friendly and as already pointed out, it'll save you some money while giving you some insight into the FJ.
