BRAKE JOB HELP...

Replaced brake pads front and rear and now the pedal feels off. Have to press pedal really deep to get it to bite and even when it does its not consistent. Am i missing something?

I haven't worked on brakes in a really, really long time, and the last time was on a really old car.. But..

Did you need to bleed the brakes for that process? Sounds like maybe you have air in there? Could be totally wrong tho.

Yah in that case I would be suspicious that there is still an air bubble in there.

Still might be wrong but that is the first thing I would check.

I can not remember if the FJ has shims between the pads and the pistons, if it does they can get hung up and keep the pads away from the pistons. Check for gaps.
