FJ Cruisers of Northern California
Ok folks, I work for the Stanislaus County Office of Education here in Modesto. I just found out we are getting a bonus on next month's (May's) check to the tune of $800 due to wise money management. I'm trying to decide how to use it. I'd really like to get a new rear bumper as the stock bumper is a plastic joke. The bumpers that interest me right now are the Warn, Demello, All Pro... I'm not really interested in the tube options. Any recomendations along with pros and cons of each would be appreciated.
Oh yeah, I'm considering getting an AR 15 too, so there's that...

DeMello is having a group buy for their rear bumper on the BR.
AR 15 - That'll work as a rear bumper?
Yeah, I looked it up when I saw your reply... I am a member of the BR as well but even at the discounted price of $875 plus $100 for the hitch, then shipping... That's still over a grand. I dunno. I'll have to think on it. I like that the warn works with the factory hitch...
No, but I could use it to "borrow" the $ for a bumper :) Kidding. No, I'm just a gun nut, so between FJ mods and guns... Lets just say that at times it can be hard to decide.
Buy a rear bumper. Look at the install threads on BR. That should help you decide which one you should get, as each has little nuances you may or may not like.
You can still get an AR-15. Just pick up an Off-List Lower Reciever (around $150), and you can build it slowly over time and exactly how you want.
I'm thinking I will end up going with a bumper. God knows how may times I've started to step on the rear wings and caught myself just short of tearing them off. As far as getting an Off-List Lower, that's what a few buddies are saying too. The Upper is where all the custom and cool things happen anyway. (Also all the $! Lol) The AR platform is so diverse with so many options these days that it will honestly take me a month or more of research and reviews for me to decide what direction to go.
He said BUMPER, not Thumper! ;-D
Lol!
he said bumper not bump-her!
