FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Ok, the other day as I was pulling my  rack off and setting up to plastidip the roof, my wife asks me..." Will you be done with mods after this?" I looked at her with an expression that I should know better than to use but I mean, I just couldn't believe she'd ask me that! (I have since found my manhood, it was under the grape vines, but I digress...) "Uh, why?" I asked. (stupid, stupid, stupid) "Because you said you'd be done for a while after the body mount chop."  Thinking frantically I tried to remember what all I had done to the truck since the BMC. Not a lot, just the hood decal by Amaesing decals, the Springfield MPAC rear door rack with STAT pouches, the MPAC rear cargo barrier, Tuffy security consol, and recovered my rear storage box with indoor/oudoor carpeting  and aluminum edges (blue room idea). "Uhhh Yeeaaahhhh..." I said. "I can't do much more after this anyway, I need to save up" (STUPID,STUPID,STUPID) "Oh yeah, for what?"  "I dunno, for whatever." (STUPID!!STUPID!!!STUPID!!!!) "Oh good", she says, "We need to build our savings anyway."

SIGH

True. That's wise to do... But still! There's bigger tires, sun roof, Line-x roof, cb,  new front and rear bumpers...

Anyone else get this question? If so, how'd it go?

Thanks man, the spray handle really helped! Prep time was a PITA!

Yup, prep was a PITA! Mine had its first real brush test yesterday at HH. Branches running the roof, and didn't chip/peel at all. Very impressed by the stuff. Looks great Jim. Great color combo.

I'm diggin' the look too. My buddy calls it my "black and tan" after half Guiness and half Bass Ale. I'm a fan of that mix too...  :) Curious to see if I get much more heat here in Modesto with the black roof this summer. If it's not a lot, I'll get it line-xed.

I'm going to be doing Line-X as well. I've finally decided that I do in fact like my black 'n blue! Let me know when you're going in for the spray... May be able to get a double discount :)

Will do man. I was quoted 600 here in the valley. Called 4 shops and that's my best price. Can you check the bay?

My brain says "No". My Budget says "Yes, for now".

Stupid budget.

agreed stupid stupid budget :(

mods... nah, i'll probably never be done. The secret to getting what you want is to sell off something else. For instance, I've got some misc parts laying around that I'll try to unload, hoping to get about $400. I'll take that and buy skid plates and say "Well, I pretty much covered all of it by selling the old stuff." Whether I do or not isn't the issue, it just sounds better than, "I just spent a grand on skid plates"

but in all honesty, my wife is pretty good about me getting whatever I want.

sweeeeet

Done!   well, after a regear, skid plates and maybe a SAS

Soooo not so done, eh?

I stopped say this is the last mod because it's never the last mod, there is always something I want to

add on the rig or upgrade on the rig... :-)
