FJ Cruisers of Northern California
I promised my `lil cowgirl niece that I'd take her wheeling for her birthday - rain or shine! She barrel races at rodeos up in La Honda and has been dying to get off road and see what its all about.
I thought I'd post up the date here to see if anyone else would like to meet up / tag along - anyone who wants to is welcome!
Monday - February 20 (President's Day Holiday) - Hollister Hills SVRA - 10am a till ??

oooo monday, I dont have it off, but dont count me out just yet.
are you going down just for that day? Will you be down over the weekend?
Just for the day...
I know Monday's kind of a weird day, but its a holiday for us teacher folks ;-)
AMEN to that! a teachers life has it upss...annnd downs :) Ill see what the misses has planned if nada count me in!
Have you ever been to Hollister when raining or just after?
FYI, the clay can get real slippery on some of the roads/trails. Pretty bad feeling to turn the wheels and have no effect as you approach a curve w/ a drop on the other side.
I have always waited a couple of weeks after a rain until it has had a chance to dry out.
Yea - I understand that all too well.
I'll just have to see what the weather holds for the next few days. A little rain and I'm not too bothered - just sticking to the easy trails (green circles an the lower ranch map) or, if its raining piss and grim, we'll reschedule for a later time.
Thanks for the heads up.
Also make sure you follow "Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area" on facebook. They post trail weather closure information there
I'm down!
I'm off too. If the rains stays away between now and then, I'll come on out. I'll let your niece know that 4-wheeling isn't just a guy thing...just like rodeos and barrel racing.
