I installed a set of Hella Supertones to finally rid myself of that pathetic stock horn.  Wiring went pretty well except for the minor issue of the horns not working. Checked all my wiring and replaced the fuses and still got nothing.  I ended up plugging the stock unit back in and that didn't want to work either. Went so far as to plug the stock horn into the secondary horn connection on the left side of the engine bay but didn't get anything that way either. At this point I'm assuming that there is a horn relay somewhere in the fuse box (although I can't tell from the labelling) that I may have inadvertantly fried.

Can anyone tell me which (if any) of the relays controls the horn?  Been searching high and low with now luck thus far.

Oh look at the bright side, you don't have the wimpy horn anymore.

lol!

check the relay box under the hood next to the battery

I've been in there but there doesn't appear to be a relay that is labelled horn according to the fuse box cover.

Thanks much for this... very helpful, but SOB am I reading that correctly that the relay is actually on the backside of the driver side interior fuse panel! What a PITA its going to be to get at that! I crawled around under there a bit tonight but lost my patience with the lack of light.

awesome... thank you

Thanks for all the tech docs and links.  As usual... its the little things that you overlook that cause all your problems.

Sitting back today I began thinking about the issue encountered with reinstalling the factory horn and not having it worked. The problem was that all I did was plug it back in... failed to actually bolt it to the body... hence no ground and no noise!.  once I confirmed that the switches and relay worked on the factory horn I carried that grounding issue thought to the new Hellas and decided to re-run my ground wires to the mount point of the factory horn and suddenly I had noise... lots of noise. Big improvement over the stock unit!

Good news!
