Clear Lake Trail Ideas Help Please
Hi fellow FJ society. I am looking to do a camp/trailing trip in a few weeks. I would like to go north, stay out of the sieras so I was thinking Clear Lake would be a nice spot to try. I would like to know if there are any trails I could go and hit up on a saturday. I would like to find a clearing and camp that night there on/near the trail. Any idea or direction as to what I should do? This would be my first trail so nothing to technical that I would require a spotter.

You might try out the Pillsbury Lake area NE of Ukiah. I was reading about some trails there on Rider Planet this morning. Check out http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/info/california_05896/rid.... It states there is access to 33 miles of jeep roads. Haven't been there so not an endorsement but something to look into. Other sites listed on that Rider Planet site for California. Hope this helps.
