Tioga Road, January 1, 2012

Not exactly a trail run, but it feels really strange to think that on January 1, I've already had my first trip to the "east side" for 2012.  Something that usually doesn't happen until early summer.

 

Ellery Lake, just east of YNP

 

 

The following are from a frozen over Tenaya Lake.  It usually has 4-6 feet of snow on it this time of year, and you have to ski (yeah, snow ski) to get here.

 

 

 

Just returning with gear..not a person.

Our company received confirmation from NPS that Tioga Road will not close until weather conditions require it to be closed.
