FJ Cruisers of Northern California
Hi everyone!
I recently purchased a used fj that has the standard mods done to it (metal tech bumpers, 3" lift, etc), and I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good shop in the bay area that can handle a modified truck. I'm located in Mountain View.
This particular FJ has been pulling pretty heavily to the right and I noticed some moderate tire wear in the front. I assumed it just needed a tire rotation and general alignment so I took it to my local Toyota shop to have the work done including a standard checkup and servicing..
After several hours the mechanics called me back and said they couldn't fix the alignment because of the aftermarket suspension (and bad tire wear), and suggested that I take it somewhere else. Otherwise it appeared that everything was running fine.
So, thats what I intend to do. Can anyone help me out?
Much appreciated
Mike

Looks like you already have TC upper control arms, those are used correct camber after a lift. Check your lower control arm rubber bushings. I would hope that the shop you used would have done that already.
The guy I use for alignment is in Clovis.
Here are some shops members have suggested...

Oh that's excellent, it looks like there are a few recommended shops not too far from me. Ill have to give them a call and see who is available to help me out.
Much appreciated!
I went with George Kenney at S.W.A.T. Customs (http://www.swatcustoms.com) in Fremont. He was very good. He knows what he's doing, he's insured, and he's very responsive. You know how sometimes you encounter service providers that seem to worry about your vehicle as much as you do? That's how George made me feel.
His pricing was *very * competitive, and he was quite timely with his work.
I was pretty happy
