FJ Cruisers of Northern California

Hello all,

Michael G here from San Francisco, and part time in Cobb up in Lake County.

I just got a 2011 Army Green FJC last week.  It’s one of the “NSSE” FJ’s that get some chatter in the Blue Room. (I think the blue room means that other FJ Forum)

It’s got the Black Steelies, and solid color.  Dealer installed bumper lights and air dam with lights, and roof rack.  I was looking for a used one, but when I saw mine at the dealer on my way to work I just had to have it.

I’ve been running around in my 89 FJ62 for the past ten years (it's for sale now).  Before that it was my 85  Toy X-tra cab 4x4, and before that it was my 78 Scout II.

I don’t do the extreme 4x4 stuff. I just like to get out on dirt roads and try to get away from civilization.  So mostly I just like to go car camping.

I don’t expect to do any suspension mods until the stock equipment wears out. But eventually I’d at least like to lift it up a little bit. Or at least stiffen it up since I tend to load up pretty heavy when we hit the road.

I do need to install my Ham radio and get power to the rear for my fridge. Mine didn’t come with the 110v power in the back.

Anyway,  I thought I’d introduce myself to the group..

Happy Trails..

Welcome to the group!

Hey Michael G,
Was that you I saw at Petrified Forest Rd and hwy 128 a day or so ago? I was in the iceberg FJ with the roof rack and ARB bumper. Anyway welcome to the site. Good to have more North Bay members.

That was probably me. Coming back to SF from my place in Cobb.  I'm pretty sure I saw you to.

Do FJC drivers wave to each other?

Generally only modded fjs wave to modded fjs
Heh heh...

Makes sense to me..

welcome to the site I have a power inverter in mine since mine didnt come witht the dang 110v in the back...

Now see, that's a mod - you can always tell who's into their fj, and who's just driving.
By the way the truck looks great. I love the black steelies - it gives the truck a certain "government issue" look.

Yeah,

I'm going to hack into my subwoofer for power for my fridge. There's a good write up on that in the blue room.

I like the "government issue" look to.

Hey Michael!! Great to meet you the other day (tire cover).

'sup Rob!

Great meeting you to.

You got some great dogs. They show no fear.  I just lost my 16yr old lab mix last month..

Thanks for the deal on the cover.
