Need help!! 4WD not engaging!!

So i went to go in 4WD today and the light on the dash didn't indicate i was in 4WD. I further confirmed this by shifting in 4WD and making sharp turns. No binding.

Now I did try 4 Low and it does put the transfer case in low range, but still no 4 low. Test drive confirmed this. The rear locker even works. So any ideas? Oh, and when i put it in 4 low the slip indicator does light up. Also, no idiot lights are on, and he drive's just fine in 2WD. Thank's guys!

Check the sensors on the transfer case ,there are three , Theres one that when you go from 2hi to 4h that will engage the front actuator, ,I had two go out,I just bypassed with aviator switches

Sounds like a sensor to me..

Especially since you can get the transfer case into low and the front wheels will still not engage.

Thanks for the help guys. I've taken the info everyone has provided and decided to do an old hot rodder trick. I found the 4H switch and gave it a few taps with a screw driver head. Hopped back in the FJ, shifted to 4H and...wallahhh!!:) 4WD works again! 4WD Lights on the dash come on again and test drive confirms 4H and 4L is locked in again! So i know this isn't a fix, but at least i know what the problem is! Glad its not he actuator on the front diff. Thanks to everyone for there help!
