Which gear oil to get?

I am looking to purchase gear oil for the diffs (F+R), transfer case and transmission. What would you guys and gals recommend? I was going to purchase Mobil 1 75W-90 or RoyalPurple 75W-90 but wanted others to weigh in with other opinions/brands. I have used RP in my subaru but i am unsure about using it in the FJ.

Redline, Royal Purple or AMSOIL in the diffs. They are all good. I use RP in the FJ diffs but will switch to AMSOIL on the next service to support the local independent dealers. Tundra has Redline in it but will switch to AMSOIL eventually.

Be careful with the FJ transmission fluid, there are allot of posts on the subject but my experience with the FJ WS transmission is Toyota WS ATF (world standard) or AMSOIL ATF only (look online or contact the AMSOIL gentleman on NorCal FJs). When I last researched the subject Royal Purple was not compatible for FJ transmission. Nor was RedLine at the time, but I have heared claims it may now be. Moral: Toyota WS ATF or appropriate AMSOIL ATF. If you are doing the transmission service yourself, a good post up is over on the blue room.
IF your FJ is a manual I think you can go with proper weight RL, RP, AMSOIL, etc.

I have been running RP. No problems. However I will go AMSOil as I just changed my bike over to it. Easy online ordering and quick delivery..

I go with AMSOIL.

I just did the switch to AMSOIL for the engine and diffs
in my 80. I swear it now rolls better. I also check the engine oil after driving down to SoCal while towing a 3000+ lbs trailer and it still looked new. Engine also now runs smoother. It may just be in m head but I am very impressed with AMSOIL. Not cheap, but I believe you get what you pay for in life.

Boss it is so not your in your head AMSOIL simply takes care of your car the way an oil should. I am happy that you are noticing a difference in your car!
