Well, I finally figured out what all the pop/creak noise and "floaty" steering feel were.

My drivers side LCA alignment tabs and bushing are toast. This is the side I had the dealer replace a while back, but I wheel so it could have happened anytime.

Fortunately Total Chaos has weld in replacements for the alignment tabs, but they require some involved welding/grinding. I will add Energy suspension LCA bushings to eliminate the clunk, and Toytec coilovers to get rid of the blown shock bobbing I have with the old OME's now.

Has anyone had the TC LCA tabs replaced at a shop? there has got to be someone locally that can do this...

Damn.  I havnt had the tabs replaced.  I highly suggest getting the Radflos or something more along the lines of a proper coilover than the toytecs.  They are just a Billy5100 with a Eibach spring and adjustable seat.  really no better than a standard 5100 with an eibach spring on it.  the radflos are on sale at toytec right now for the same price or spend a couple hundred more and get the Icons.  It really sounds like you wheel your rig good and getting a proper coilover is going to suit your needs much better.

Just looking it over there is not much difference between the Toytec and the radflow, except one adjust at the top and the other at the bottom, and the Toytec is $200 less. No need use the "I" word here.

I have put 4 years and a lot of wheeling trips on our old OME mediums. The shocks are now shot, and the springs are a bit too soft for the bumper, winch, dual batteries, etc. so I am finally having to go coilover.

Toytec looks reasonable for $599 (+40 because I prefer silver to red, +25 for additional FJ hardware), so $664.

The radflos are a coilover where the spring and shock are specifically matched.  They are also valved specifically for the vehicle and they are rebuildable.  I have installed plenty of the toytecs and am not a fan.  There is no benefit over just getting 5100s with a eibach coil.   The radflos really arnt much more expensive and well worth it.

Well, for the price I will have to consider them.

Funny, the 2" version has a 650 lb spring and the 2.5" version only has a 600 lb?

More research is needed here..
