OPG bought a 60 (title change)

So I picked up a 1985 FJ60. Figured we needed another FJ at the house to go with the FJ40 & the FJC.

I'm pretty stoked I scored a great deal on it.

There are a few bumps and bruises on it, but that's normal for a 27 year old truck. Overall the body is straight. I'm now the 4th owner and it's lived it's entire life in Saratoga and San Jose so as far as I can tell no rust.

The inside is pretty clean, there is a tear in the side of the drivers seat (nothing a good seat cover can't hide). The tailgate is all but gone except the masonite that was under the vinyl and foam which is no big deal since I am already planning on tailgate storage.

The 2F engine has 229k on it so it's just been broken in, I just need to replace the belts and go through the vacuum hoses and it needs a valve cover gasket so no big deal. And it just passed smog woot!

Oh there are plans. This is going to be a long term project.

The fist order of business is to change the valve cover gasket and go through all the hoses and belts to update and replace them to make it more reliable and so I don't smoke the engine before I plan on doing a swap.

A lift, lockers, re-gear are in the 1st year plans.

I love 60s that get SOA conversions... they look beefy yet road worthy. I am trying to talk Jessica into a 62 that an old man owns down the street from where we live. All original and original owner. Never been offroad. .. I look forward to seeing you build this up. I hope you keep this thread updated.

It's amazing what some of the guys on mud are doing with the 60's & 80's. I've been going through 1300 pages of posts on mud on the 60 gathering ideas.

I'm starting to put together my lists. Need to write out what I want to do then research and get with Doug since he is going to be my main source of help, hell he will be doing a lot of work, I'm going to be getting my hands dirty as well since I want to know how to fix it if I break it and he's just as excited about this project as I am.

So far I pretty sure Luke@4x4labs is going to be getting a fair amount of my money.

I need to find a corporate sponsor to help fund my ideas.
