Do you know of anybody that has made a Coast to Coast on the FJ, visiting interesting places all along the way?

Scott, FJWanderlust, has been around a lot of the country.

Sounds like a good Mr and Mrs Frenchie trip with video documentation or a live feed the whole way.

Frenchie ? I thought he was from Jersey.

or the Last Great Road Trip??? they have been everywhere

Well I was thinking, in the case we will ever have some decent vacation time, a list of places to visit. A Coast to Coast on normal roads does not take too much planning and time. It could be a matter of three days.

But we wanted to make something like visiting several interesting places and stay few days in each one.

For example now I would put:

  • Moab UT
  • Ouray CO

But I have never been East of Denver. Do you have any suggestion :) ???

I have driven across the country three times.. But never in the FJ.. I am sure there are many that have done it.. It would  be cool to travel across country using only trails, Just like way back when.. Now that would be a trip!

That would be a trip! I wonder if there are maps that show trails all the way across?
Unfortunately I haven't seen any. It would be very interesting, but in reality I think one will have to do a lot of research...

I would think that somneone out there has done enough research to find out..  Maybe??

I am sure you would have to use pavement once in a while (mississippi river comes to mind , I am sure there are others)  But what a trip it  would be.. It would be better if you did not have any time limit and all the money you could ever want..   But then again lots of other ideas come to mind also.. heheheheh

No well we cannot possibly do a fully-offroad Coast to Coast, also in terms of time, and equipment.

The nice thing would be: find some interesting locations, and go there and visit them while we travel, all across the country.

Yes you could say maybe go out the 80 and visit cool sights from there and then come back on the 40 and hit old route 66 or even go more south through Texas, New Mexico , Arizona.
