We've got a leak!!!!

So after finally getting the winch bumpers and snorkel put on, I decided to test her out. Everything was going great, until it got too sloppy and got stuck. Water was half way up the doors climbed out the window strung the winch to my buddy on dry land and came right out. So total time in water was about 8.5 min but the water was high to fill front and rear lower door pockets and dunk the back seat. So i think the doors were not fully sealed and the brackets of the back seat to the car have an opening in the plastic...What should i do the stop the leaks?

I don't think you CAN stop the leaks. The FJ (or any other vehicle) is not water proof. Shouldn't be too hard to dry it out but you should take out all the flooring to do so.

That's not good, check the door seals and the plugs under the FJ something may have been knocked loose

All Toyota Doors (and most doors) have drain holes in the bottom to allow the water from the window the drops past the felt to drain. if they didn't have the drain holes, your doors would rust.

Toyota adds a hot wax sealant at the factory to the bottom of the inside of the door so that any water that gets in there will run out. In very hot climates, you will sometimes get this wax flowing out of the bottom of the door.

Your Toyota is "water resistant" not water-proof.

I have to say it.

Stay out of deep water unless absolutely necessary. You are lucky you did not drown your FJ's computer.

You better let that thing dry and air out or it is going to smell like mold.

Yes X2,

My last rig was 98 Taco .I loved that truck...until I sank it in 3.5 feet of muddy water and had to get it salvaged. The seats were soaked in muddy water, water that didn't dry in a timely manner. Before I knew it the truck smelt like mold (@$$). Lucky for me the Taco had 192K on it...

I would rent a basement fan from a rental place, pull the seats out and hit each seat with the fan for 8-12 hours.

If you don't dry the seats out good, they will smell stinky like feet in the summer...unless you are into that sort of thing.
