Oregon Back Country (Discovery) Trail....Anyone Interested?

We are heading up to Washington in July and recently discovered this trail.

We have been talking about trying to get in at least four days on the trail, but nothing is set in stone as of yet. Just wanted to put this out and see if anyone is interested in joining along. This would be the first time on this trail for us, but FJScout is interested in going and has been on it a few times. We were thinking the week of July 9th, as that would allow time for those looking to head to the Summit. We would be heading up to Seattle to visit family following the run, then back in time for AllCal.

I'm interested...timing looks good right now. This might allow me to hit 3 of the 10 or so National Parks/Forests on my bucket list.

Me, the wife and Yoshi are in. I have family in Portland and this would work out great, I usually visit them during July anyhow. I plan to spend maybe 2 weeks or more for this trip. Plan to run this trip with you guys and possibly head out to Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone.

Looks like there is a lot of interest! I am currently looking at which routes to follow, and want to hear what your opinions are on this. Another question is how many miles do we want to cover total? Jake, how many miles per day would you say is a realistic goal on these trails? I would like to do all of route five but am not sure how many days we would be looking at when doing that entire route. Another option I was looking at would take route five Sections one and two then Route four west, I would be heading north from there to Seattle, but the loop could be completed by taking Route three south back to California. Anyway look forward to hearing what you all think.

I will post some trail info, notes and suggestions over the weekend.
This is a great trail for for any rig stock or modified and is in my opinion more of an expedition style forum. Meaning go prepared and be self sufficient. That being said, you can break away from the trail and hit a small town along most of the route. The trail is broken down in 5 manageable routes that you can run.

Still researching info for the post up. Reports are stating Snowfall in these areas have set records this year, requiring much trail rehabilitation. Hope to know more in a few weeks.
