Meet and Greet before SNT?

Sunday 10/24/10 at the Pozo Saloon, about 11am depending on the time to run High Mountain road from Lake Lopez in Arroyo Grande to the Saloon in Pozo.

The idea is for everyone to meet in Arroyo Grande at 9AM and take the back way in to Pozo.

For those travelling north we are going to meet at the Starbucks in Santa Maria, 530 E Beteravia, at 830 AM and caravan to Arroyo Grande.

For those of you coming from the north we will meet you at 0900 at the Shell station, 222 Grand Ave, in Arroyo Grande. Get off the 101 at Grand and the Shell station is on the East side of the freeway. Please be gassed up and ready to go at 0900.

We will head towards Lake Lopez and take high mountain road into Pozo. It is an easy dirt trail that any stock FJ can do. I hope to get to the Pozo Saloon around 11 for lunch and Pozo martinis.

After lunch we are going to the back entrance of the Pine Mountain trail and run it to the steps (a most difficult section) which will be optional. There will be other short or long trails in the area and we can discuss what the group wants to do.

The saloon is a great place for lunch and a meet & greet. There is an easy way back to the 101 through Santa Margarita on a paved road for those that don't want to continue after lunch.

ooks like the meet & greet will be the weeekend of the 23rd, Sat or Sun, and we can do a couple easy to moderate trails if anyone wants to. I need to recon a trail a few want to try during Surf & Turf, It's near Pozo.

Pozo Saloon has a good lunch and there are a lot of trails in the area. Its just past Santa Margarita lake, north of San Luis Obispo. We can meet in Santa Maria at one of the Starbucks and caravan to Pozo on the back road out of Lopez Lake (a forest road) or take the highway and run the forest road back. Whatever works depending on where everyone is coming from.

I hope you don't mind me joining. I know I am new, can we make it for Sunday? I would like to wheel with you but I have a soccer game on Saturday.

Sunday sounds good to me, we can work out a time to get to Pozo for lunch at 11 then hit some trails. A meet in Santa Maria at 930 AM at the Starbucks (530 E Beteravia) then about 10 to 1015 at a spot in SLO and head to Pozo as a group? Whats a quick spot off the 101 in SLO?

I added an idea to my original plan, we meet in AG and take the back way in to Pozo, will that work for you?

Id be up for either day. I would be coming from san luis obispo if anyone else wants to caravan to pozo from the san luis area

The weekend of the 23,24th sounds good to me. I am in Los Osos so if you have an ETA for the meet at Lopez, let me know.

I will work on the time and location to meet in Santa Maria, then Arroyo Grande (near Lopez) then take the back road/trail to Pozo for lunch. We can do some more trails near Pine Mountain or the Garcia Ridge area after lunch.
