Now is a great time to study for new HAM license or upgrade

Well with the end of fall here and Winter a few days away, now is a great time to spend a little time studying for your Tech license. 

It's been mentioned before, but there are a few good ways to go about getting your license.

1. Use a online program like HamRadioTest.com I can vouch for this site, I used them to help me upgrade from Tech to Extra in about a month.
2. Grab the book The Ham Radio License Manual you can get it from Amazon 
3. Find a local ham cram 

Once your ready then you need to find a testing session. I know of one in Saratoga that happens the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.

A HAM ticket is just a good thing to have. You might not always use it but it opens up a world of flexibility when it comes to communications.

Remember you no longer need to learn morse code, I know for a lot of people that was the main barrier to entry. You don't have that excuse anymore.
