FJ Cruisers of Northern California

The past couple days i have been hearing a whine coming from the engine bay that changes pitch with the change in rpm's. anyone have any idea what it may be? i think it is the belt, i just hit 70k and dont think ive ever changed it out. anyone know if it is the belt or could be anything else? any and all help will be appreciated. my engine bay is quite filthy as many can attest to so im going to clean it up tomorrow and see if that helps at all.

Thanks,

Max

Mines doing the same so lets put together a work day/meet n greet and get some folks there that have done the swap and some that want to switch theirs out also. Where are you located?

im definitely down for that! cuz i know if i take it to toyota they will charge me a small fortune plus id like to put in sealed ones as the oem ones arent. Im in fremont for the holidays but in SF mostly. so basically anywhere in the bay area is good for me. we should make another event or post onto the old one that was linked onto here by DWH

takes like 20 min tops to change..I suggest you change the belt while your in there.

Oh and make sure you have a diagram for the belt routing.

okay so pulleys and belt. why not make it a day and do the spark plugs too if its necessary/helpful?

You know if you sold those lights it might stop makin noise at you lol jkjkjk

hahahaha if you bought them!!!!

max your engine bay..... that's all I gotta say,

im down for a day mine is in the same boat it is the pulley when you start it you should hear the chatter im pretty sure all my pulleys need replacing.
